Happy Halloween, Ya lucky Jerks

Halloween as I pictured it in my head this year:

Halloween Reality:

Sometimes I miss America.
Sometimes I want to gorge myself on empty calories.
Sometimes I want I want to stab every single package of Spicy Soup Flavored Lays and Chicken Legs on the stores shelves with a steak knife until they turn into the artificially flavored sugary goodness that I recognize and am not scared to eat.

China would be much better if it would stop being China on Holidays and just act like America, like it should.

I kid... kind of.

Hope you all had a great Halloween and your pumpkins and mailboxes avoided getting demolished by teenage deviants with baseballs bats,

~Izzy~

  1. My Halloween was similar to yours, Spicy Soup chips included. What? I shop at the Asian mart a lot and I love their odd chip flavors... Americans just don't understand the beautiful union that is shrimp and a potato chip.

    1. It HAS to be an acquired taste. I guess I just haven't been forced to eat them enough. Hopefully I never will...

    1. Awe! Thanks mom! P.s. Did you know that you have the same initials as our cousin? I don't know why his name first popped into my head, but your comment totally messed with my brain for a second!

  4. I don't know. For some reason flavored chips and hot soup do not sound that bad to me for some reason.

    1. In theory I guess. The picture just ruins it for me though. To tell you what flavor it is, there's a bowl of bright red soup full of noodles, with some sort of lettuce leaf and pork brisket patties sticking out of the center of the bowl that are garnished with whole red peppers and chunks of parsley. It just looks too weird. I'm a chicken when it comes to trying new foods recently.

  5. I was just thinking about you the other day and how you love candy. And how in our 8am class everyday you would look at me and say, "candy?" and I would respectfully decline. And you would continue eating candy throughout the rest of the day.
If I could send you some I would!
    -missin you

  6. When I lived in Honduras, it wasn't quite as foreign as China, but still, on days like Thanksgiving or 4th of July, it was always a bummer. We tried to substitute, but it was never quite the same.

The drawings were awesome, though, even if Halloween wasn't :)

  7. Wonderful, wonderful to SEE and TALK with you all. I love reading your blog and hearing of your adventures from your family, but actually getting to Skype with you was way better. Loved seeing where you live and hearing what you've been doing. Best of all - watching Larkin and being waved to! Love you all. AC
